Program : Touchdesigner + PolyCam + CloudCompare
For my final year project, I explored the contrast between urban and natural environments, focusing on noise pollution and its personal impact.
I aimed to create an immersive experience that allows people to feel what I feel. Using Polycam, I 3D-scanned two locations with deep personal meaning—one in the city and one in the forest. I then incorporated aerial views from Google Maps and transformed the scans into point clouds using TouchDesigner.
With a Kinect Azure, I calibrated participants' movements so that specific body motions triggered corresponding sounds and particle effects. Additionally, I calculated the speed of their movements, which dynamically influenced both the visuals and the sound—faster movements produced different effects than slower ones. Viewers could switch between city and nature scenes, experiencing first-hand how different soundscapes influence their perception and emotions.
